Maria Adele Ubaldi lives in Bologna with her husband Renzo Morresi, who owns a legal practice. Whenever they can, they escape to Modigliana where they realised their dream by carrying out a dual project: the cultivation and the culture of wine with the winery La Casetta dei Frati, and hospitality and regional cuisine with the relais de charme, Il Borghetto di Brola. For the vines and the winery, the Ubaldi family turned to the expert advice of another family, the Bordinis, bound for generations to the land of Romagna and of Tuscany and to their wine. Remigio is the agronomist who was responsible for the laying out of many of the “great” vineyards, even in the valleys, from Castelluccio to Zerbina, to Villa Papiano. Francesco, Remigio’s youngest son, is a young oenologist who has already won one of the few “Three Glasses” ratings awarded in Romagna by the Gambero Rosso guide. Maria Adele, Renzo and the vine-dressers, Tonino and Gloria, have found in Remigio and Francesco Bordini, not just successful consultants, but personal friends who are genuinely interested in them, the land, grapes and wine. And the passion of the vine-dresser, rooted in the good earth, and guided by the experience of the agronomist and the skill of the oenologist, is a recipe for certain success.
