There’s a region in Italy… that’s not on the map: Tuscan Romagna. It’s a region of age-old villages like Brisighella, Tredozio, Terra del Sole, of hills that reach into the Apennines, the part of Romagna that the Medici wanted to guard as their own land.
This is where the Modigliana valley rises, on one side ornamented by the ancient city of Faenza and on the other by the green forests of Casentino.
A region with two hearts, where Tuscan cypresses and olives meet the Sangiovese vines.
On the southern slopes of the valley, La Casetta dei Frati of Maria Adele Ubaldi is a farm with vines and olive trees surrounding an eighteenth century stone house, lovingly restored and enlarged to become a rural relais, Il Borghetto di Brola.
These marl hills, a rocky sea bed that rose over 300 metres, are the birthplace of the FRAWINES® of La Casetta dei Frati, full flavoured, mineral wines with the character of the ancient terroir from whence they come.
